Community Garden
Sanburnol Park is home to the raised-bed community garden. Located in the south east corner of the park, these raised–beds make gardening easier for you to plant, maintain and harvest your crops. Returning gardeners have until March 1st to claim their spot after March 1st the 4’x8’ garden beds are available to reserve on a first-come, first-serve basis. One garden plot per household can be reserved by mail or in person at the Recreation Department.
Fee is only $20.00.
- There will be access to water, however, the gardens will be situated to receive regular watering from the park irrigation system.
- Barrels for waste and organic materials will be provided to encourage a clean garden area.
- Mowed grass paths separate the garden beds.
- You may use granular fertilizers and insecticidal soap for pest control. No aerosol or hose end sprayer fertilizers/pesticides will be allowed.
- The gardens will be available for planting beginning May 15 and will close October 31 when all plant materials shall be removed.
- Garden hours are 5:00 am – 10:00 pm.
- Be a good gardener and harvest only your crops.
- Compost bin is on site.
- These raised beds are a natural pest deterrent. However, temporary fencing will be allowed but must be removed at the end of the season.
